Anyhow-I went to the annual University Women's booksale this weekend and I got some awesome goodies. The whole batch cost me $7.50!!!
A bunch of children's primers and text books--some from the 1920's!! Adorable pictures!!
These were my PMP finds--each $1. The cookbook is an advertising piece from the 30's. The grey book on the left is a children's poetry book from 1909. The middle book is a child's dictionary from 1944. And the real prize is the alphabet book from 1923. The woodcut prints are gorgeous!! Close-ups are below:
Poetry book-poem for each letter in alphabet. Illustrations are gorgeous ( may frame some)
Child's dictionary-I want to scan some of these pages and down-size them to use in cards, etc.
Alphabet book-very Art Deco. The colors are amazing!!
Campfire girls books from 1913 & 1915. Love the covers!
Bunch of kid's books.
Vintage books from 1880's-1920's that I brought cuz I liked the covers!!
An ettiquite book from 1920's (HILARIOUS), a map book from 1940, Wlat Whitman's "Leaves of Grass" and a novel by one of my favorite author's Grace Livingston Hill. An Aunt had a large collection of her works and I've read quite a few of her books-early 20th century Christian romance!!
Vintage Crafts n Things magazines from 1977--these should be a hoot!! Nothing like 70's decor and fashion!!
Nat Geos from 1947--it's like a time warp reading these and the photo's are amazing.
Needlework magazine from 1972!! Chock-full of 70's goodness!!
Vintage needlework books-I snatch these up for old techniques and patterns.
Last but not least- two books from 1968 on making new stuff out of junk!! Crafty folk have been doiung this for years. and these are full of some SERIOUS ugly!!
Fine print on cover--says it all--lolololol
I needed more vintage and craft books like I need another hole in my head-lol but the deals are too good to pass up!!
